Documents and sources

This section gives an overview of the documentary sources and locations of the material transcribed and included within the online ‘Dukesfield Documents’ collection, and provides completed transcripts that can be downloaded. Text documents are available as PDF files, organised by the Record Office or Archive in which they are held (see below). Each document corresponds to the original archive collection and named according to their archival source reference so that the original source material may be consulted. Archive contact details are given.

Other documents from the early-modern North-east of England are being transcribed by the ‘Unlocking the Archives’ team at the Society of Antiquaries of Newcastle-upon-Tyne and can be explored from their project home page.
