Sir

      your letter of the 27th Inst. to Col Beaumont came to my hand this day – The present Price of Litharge at this place is £22.10. p[er] Ton of 20 Cwt. payable by good Bills on London due in Six Mos: - The Litharge is all delivered at Blaydon, about three Miles from this place, and the purchaser is at every expence in Shipping, Wherryhire &c.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
