       In consequence of the language used to Mr Lambton on the hustings I am requested by him to desire that you will name a Gentleman on your part to meet General Grey on his behalf.

JGL A40/9. Loose leaf insert within the volume of copy letters. Date not given, but presumably refers to the challenge prior to the duel at Bamburgh in 1826, and the hustings referred to must have been those of 30th June that day, a Friday.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
