Lest Mr Lascelles sho[ul]d be out of Town I send this to acquaint  you that I have by this post sent him a bill & a bank note as below for £590, wch wit £1475 remitted the 29 March will clear off the 1/2 y[ea]rs int[ere]st on Sr Wr.Blacketts Mortgage due 26 Feb last, the reason of my giving you this trouble is on acct of the bank note, that if any Miscarriage sho[ul]d happen you may stop the payment at the Bank. The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
