Messrs. Mulcaster Farnacres 9th January 1784 We have recd. your Letter of the 5th. Inst and are very happy to hear of the three persons you mention having had so narrow escape from death, and that our Buildings afforded them the means of being preserved, and it likewise gives us much satisfaction to be informed of your being all safe and well after the Terrible Snow of Blowing Weather which was similar here but not so bad as you describe. Mr. Walton could not possibly have excused Mr. Peter Mulcaster if he had run any risk in coming into this part of the Country & he begs to assure both him and his Brother that he will always have pleasure in seeing them but most assuredly it will never give him satisfaction that they shd. run any risk as to their persons on any of their excursions that can possible be avoided, & he thinks alike for all those for whom he has a regard. Being particularly desirous to know the real produce from 100 Bings of Lough Vein Ore as it may of course come from the Bingstead to the Ore Hearth we shall be obliged by your trying 100 Bings as exactly as you did the 50 Bings in every respect? but shd. like to have the whole of the Operations gone thro’ including Refining and Reducing so as that not only the produce may be come at as to Quantity, but the product in Money applied to the present prices - Lead is now £17. 10. – Refined <when> that Name £17.5 - the last price. Silver £ - 5. 11 per Ounce. With best wishes we are Your Hble Servts. Walton & Turner PS. Pray tell T. Temperley we have recd. his Letter & shall be glad to hear further from him & that we wish to have the late obstruction Walled through as soon as possible.
