      We have recd. your Letter of the 29th. Ult. from which we observe it is likely that we shall receive as much Ore this year as last or thereabouts, and hope the Carriage is now at an end. Whatever you see necessary as to additional Smelters we leave to you, and desire you will do whatever you think proper upon the occasion without consulting us further.

      We heartily wish you had thought sooner of building a new Assay Room, but, as it is a little Job, hope the present Season will answer for the work.

      We are glad to hear the Information you give us as to the Trial of washing Lough Vein Ore & hope this Business will be got settled without further Trouble. We are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
