      As Allendale Town Fair day is upon the 10th May we shall to accommodate the people make the Lead Mill Pay on Tuesday the 11th of May and on Wednesday pay the Lead Carriers being the 12th of May, but if we are wrong as to the Allendale Town Fair being on the 10th of May the Pays may be upon the 10th & 11th of May as before fixed.

      It is requested that all the Lead may be got to Newcastle by Monday the 19th of April if that can be done.

      The 58 pcs. of cwt Lead must be sent so as to go thro’ from the Mill to Newcastle without it being taken off the Carriage and it is to be delivered at Mr. Willm. Watsons Plumber on the High Bridge. It is to be weighed before you send it off and let us, as also Mr. Watson, have an Account of the weight.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
