      By Johnson and Corbet you will receive <2 Sack> of Rye & <4 Bushels of Corn> which you are desired to forward to John Friend by the Ore Carriers but desire to know from John Friend where it is to be delivered before you send it that there may be no difficulty to the Carriers in the delivery perhaps it may be delivered at Next Force Shop. We are

PS. When you write John Friend let him know that each Sack holds 3 Bushels and that the Corn is to be delivered at prime cost including carriage and wear and tear of Sacks.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
