We have just recd. your Letter of 1st. Inst and also the Operation for last Month.

Wm. Pattinson was here this Day and we have told him that he and the other Carriers may either deliver the Lead at Newcastle or Dukes Hall and have desired him to let all the other Carriers know this.

We heartily wish you both and yr. respective connections many happy new Years and are Your Humble Servts.

PS. We think it may be as well to let the business at Carlisle rest a little as it now does.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
