You are intending to do right in dividing the Lead so as to make two pieces of Silver.

What you propose as to the Carriage of the Ore is so perfectly proper that you are desired to make it immediately known to the Carriers that they shall be paid 6d. per Bing for all the Ore they carry from the Mines in Alston Moor from this time to the 17 Day of May inclusive from such Mines as we paid 4 1/8d per Bing for last yr. & for such other Mines as Ore may be brought from this year near to such Mines as 4 2/8d per Bing was paid. 5d & 10d per Bing for Blagill Thorngill Hole & adjoining Mines and 7s/4d per Bing for Windy Brow & the Mines West of Tyne. If any at Greengrove & Rockhill & near to be at 6d. per Bing.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
