Dear Sir  

      As Mr Boag will be with you some time this Week I referr you to him, as to the Tennants of the North side of Scremerston who must remain as yours till the Board of Directors think fitt to order it otherwise, Mr Boag will inform you we have no power to make alterations, & that none can be made without proper application to the Directors in which you may be assured of our assistance.  My Son is appointed Joynt Receiver with Mr Boag, & will on all occasions be ready to Joyn with him in doing you all reasonable Service; and I will most certainly give you my assistance when ever it is necessary.

      We have Rece’d Directions to pay you the Purchase Money for Priors Land on Executing the Conveyances, of which we have heard nothing since Mr Stewart sent the Draught.  My Son Joins with me in Compliments & I am

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
