To John Ibbetson Esqr Farnacres 7th May 1779

Sir

We yesterday received the agreeable favour of your Letter of the 4th by Express and shall certainly be proceeding in doing every thing in the best way the time will admit of, but as the first and 2nd Proposers for Whittle East Farm, Lands Ends East Farm - Meldon Park North Farm and Meldon East Farm have given up their Proposals we must beg you will send us without losing a moment the next best Proposers and Proposals for these Four Farms as we think with you when the first Proposers give up the next in succession to whom there does not appear any objection as to Character and Circumstances should be accepted. We must also beg to receive along with the above the Proposals which you have received for the Whorters part of Allerwash which it is intended shall be let for Three Years and after that to go along with the Lands at Fourstones to which they adjoin. The fatigue of this busyness is so very great that it is scarcely to be born we shall notwithstanding do everything in our power to get thro' it and we are with great regard

      Sir Your faithfull & most obed't Serv'ts

      N W Jun'r J.C.T.
