Dear Sir,

      Yesterdays Post brought us your favour of the 6th. Int and we have this day drawn upon you for £248. 6. 10 being the amount of 874 Ounces of fine Silver at 5. 8 ¼ per Oz. after deducting  4s. for Mr. Jno. Waltons Watch, at the same time he received his, Mr. Thomas Walton would have been glad to have received his own Watch which he left with you when in London with his Father in February last. We are sorry to see that Silver is likely to be so low.

Best Compliments to Mr. Smeaton & desire you will acquaint him that we are enabled to build the Water House at Spindleston New Mill or Waren Mill so as to Roof all fair with the Mill House & that the Gangway and upper Chamber will lye quite open from the Inside Gable of the Water House to the inside of the Gable of the Mill House next the Bridge & that all is going on well except the Aqueduct a considerable part of which forming the the Woody Bank has Slid quite down & must be supported with a Wall.
