Mr. John Holmes Farnacres 10th February 1784

Dear Sir,

We are favoured with your Letter of the 5th Inst and have examined our Accounts and find you want £22 for Bone Ashes which Sum ought to have been deducted from the amount of the Silver drawn for the 8th of August last but you’ll recollect and see by our Letter of that date that our attention was then taken up concerning a difference between us about one Ounce of Bullion which certainly had occasioned our neglecting to acct. with you for the £22 and afterwards we really forgot it which you must be so good to excuse.

This day we have drawn upon you payable 40 days after date for £159. 13s. 5d. being Balance of Account as below & are

A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
