To Mr James Wood                              		Ravensworth Castle  March the 6th   1759



Dear Sir

      We have rece.d your Sons letter of the 3rd Inst. by this days Post, acknowledging the rect. of ours with the Draught which should have been more Explicit.  We are extremely concerned to hear you are Ill, but hope this will meet with you better & that you will be able by return of the Post acknowledge the recet. of the bill for Two Thousand Five Hundred Pounds, according to the usual Forme in which you have always done it as a Voucher to us.  Which we must desire you will do.   We wish you all manner of Health and Happyness    & are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
