Dear Sir

      Inclosed we send you Mr Jos. Airey & Cos Bill on Vere Glyn & Hallifax for Three Thousand Five Hundred Pounds, dated this day and Payable Thirty Days after date on Accot. of the Rents & Profits of the Derwentwater Estate wch pray acknowledge the Rect of.  We are sorry to give the trouble we did in regard to the last Bill we sent you, but much obliged to you for the favour you did us in acknowledging the Rec.t of it your Self, as that only is what we look upon as a Voucher to us; and when we send Bills to you we begg the favour of your own acknowledgement, as they are always large Sums; and to prevent any mistakes wch may happen, or uneasiness to us by delay occasioned by your being in the Country we shall desire the bankers upon whom these Bills are drawn not to accept them till we hear from you.  We begg our best Compliments to your family & all our Friends & hope you enjoy good health, wch is the sincere wishes of Sir, Yours etc

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
