Gentn.  

      We have this day sent into the hands of Mr Jos. Airey& Compy. a bill on you for Three Thousand five hundred Pounds dated this day & payable to Messrs Walton & Boag at 30 days after date which we desire you may not accept till you hear from one of us.  Mr Wood lives in the Country which sometimes occasions a delay in answering ours which is the reason for this Caution & giving you this trouble which we hope you will excuse being

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
