To Mr Stewart Farnacres November the 27th 1758

Dear Sir

By last Frydays Post, Mr Boag and I had a Letter from Mr Everest relating the Derwentwater Leases, an extract from which I Send you Inclosed, from which I find that matter was some time agoe settled between Mr Wm. Boag , the Secretary for the Hospital, and Mr Everest. altho’ I declare to you I knew nothing before of it. I have sent a duplicate of the Extract to Mr Wm. Boag, and have acquainted his Father that I have done so; without doubt therefore they will wait upon you, and I desire you and they will now putt this Affair upon a footing, that there may be no further delay, and when the Draughts are prepared, I shall be glad to see them. I am etc

      N. Walton

To Messrs W & Boag Coppy from Mr Everests Letter of the 20th November 1758

As to the General Leases Mr Boag Jnr. may remember that it was long Since agreed at Salters Hall by him (on your behalf) Mr Horne & Self that the most expeditious was the most Elligible way of preparing those Leases, & that was by Printing of them. In order to which a Draught of each kind of Lease Viz: one for a Farm and another for a Lead Mine was to be Sent here to be Settled by Mr Hussey; and transmitted back again to be Printed at Newcastle at Mr Boags desire; and as he undertook to prepare and Send up the Draughts, I thought to have sent them before this

      J Everest
