                                        To Sir Thomas Blackett Bart     Dr

For 3000 P[iece]s Refin[e]d Lead q[uantit]y 4487Cwt <    q> 7lb at £17 per F[odde]r per 21 per Cwt  3632-7-8



Gentlemn	Mr Blackett was duly favour’d with your Letter of the 13th ins[tan]t informing him that you accept of 3000 p[iece]s of Lead at £17 per Fo[dde]r & above you have the Invoice for the same which is weighed off for you & shall Ship it when we have your directions.  At the End of a Month or Six Weeks you will please to give Mr Blackett your Draft at 3 Months for the Amount as it will be more agreeable to him to be paid in this way than to allow any thing for Prompt Payment.  Mr Blackett has not as yet sold any more Lead, but is in hopes of selling a Quantity soon to Messrs Freeman & Preston & as soon as he makes that Sale he intends to advance the Price immediately _ I am for J E Blackett Esqr                          Your’s etc  J Straker

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
