Gentlemn	I wrote to you on 3rd ins[tan]t to which I beg leave to refer you, since w[hi]ch Mr Blackett is favoured with yours of 4th ins[tan]t  _ The New Ship that I mentioned to you is now taking in her loading for Rotterdam & will sail in the course of next Week if the Wind should answer, I shall ship you 600 P[iece]s on board her & I shall send the weight of this & the other 600 P[iece]s as soon as the latter is Shipped _ The Name of the New Vessel is The Prince of Orange of Newcastle Captn Fothergill, I mention this in case you think it necessary to insure the Lead                                                                                            I am etc  J.S

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
