At a Meeting of the Directors of Greenwich Hospital at Salters Hall on Wednesday the 22d June 1768.

 

Resolved;

                That the Receivers be acquainted that the Board approve of their having hired Peter Mulcaster as Mill Agent and Joseph Hilton as Clerk for the delivery of the Ore at the Mines & as Assistant to the Moor Master and that they be directed to pay them the Salaries proposed in their Letter of the 26th of April last viz

      Peter Mulcaster as Mill Agent 				£30 pAnnum

      Joseph Hilton as Clerk of the Deliveries and Mill Agent.  	£30 pAnnum

Besides which the former is to be Allowed his travelling Charges when he Travels from home on the Hospitals business.

 

Resolved;

                 That they do cause the House, Stable etc. which they recommend as absolutely necessary for the Mill Agent to be forthwith Built near the Mill: and also the Old Peat house to be repaired for a Store house as they have proposed; taking care that the Estimate they have transmitted amounting to £135:9.. for the Expence thereof be not exceeded.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
