Dr Sir	I had the favour of your letter & before this time you will have Rec[eiv]ed a letter from Mr Heron with the best information that he can give you respecting the Affairs of the Halls.  Mr Straker went to Hexham yesterday to meet your Lead Agents with Subsistence for the Workmen which with some Payments for Wood Amounted to £2910, There was little or no alteration in the State of the Mines from the nearest Calculation that the Agents could form the Pays for the several Mines & Mills will amount to near £70,000 _ The Contents of your former letter was communicated to the Agents with which they were well satisfied                  I am etc    J.E.B

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
