Dear Sir

	I wrote you the 21st Ulto to which refer you.  Inclosed you will receive a Bill of this date drawn by Bell Cookson & Co at a months date for One Thousand pounds the Receipt of which you will please to acknowledge & hope you think I begin the Year well.  I have not sold any more Lead since I wrote you last nor do I expect or desire it till the Spring.

	P.S.  I have this day paid £2000 to the Bank & am etc    JEB

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
