I am favoured with your Letter of the 16th instant inclosing three Bills amounting to £122 19s 0d     I shall keep them in my hands till due but I hope you will not take it amiss should I return them soon after as it is quite out of my Way to take these kind of Bills in Payment     I have not heard from Mr Wilkinson with respect to the Payment of the Money     I sent you yesterday by Thomas Jennings the London Carrier a piece of fine Silver containing Nine Hundred & Twenty two Ounces which I desire you will place to Account with Sir John Trevelyan Baro[ne]t at the Markett Price & advise me on your Receipt of it.  I am etc  J E B.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
