Sir	I wrote to you on the 31st ult to which I refer you. I have not heard anything further respecting the Claim of Mr Wescomb, but Yesterday evening returning from Durham I met Mr Lawson going there, probably to take Counsil’s Opinion on the Case, but I am satisfied that they cannot make anything of it, having no doubt that the late Mr Wilson & Mr West would take Care that the late Sir Thos Blackett Passed a Fine & Suffered a Recovery in a regular Form etc. I have had an answer from Mr Bell that he has given the Tenants Notice not to sign any Paper expressing them to attorn & become Tenants, or to pay any Sum (however small) in token thereof, or in Name, or as part of Rent to any Person who may apply to them for that purpose.

I Yesterday Evening recieved from Mr Bell the Deputations for the Manors of Hexham & Anick Grainge (which to save time) I have by this days post inclosed to Mr Beaumont at Doctor Denman’s Old Burlington Street, for him & Mrs Beaumont to execute & return to me.

The small mistake in the Will of the late Sir Thos Blackett Bt expressing the several Estates Devised to Mr Wm Bosville to be in the County of Durham, instead of the County of Northumberland, in which County they are, I should imagine will not be of any consequence as the several Estates are particularly mentioned by Name I am etc J.E.B
