Mr Thos. Walton

      I have seen your letter of 1st Inst to Mr Walton and this Serves to acquaint you that we have agreed with the workmen to doe what we think necessary and beg they may go on with this work and we will take care to see that it is well done.	

      As to the Mill Troughs William Lee promised to doe them  I have this day wrote him, And as to the Tythe Letch be drawn and a particular Acco’t kept, and as it is referred to Mr Walton & me we will consider it well before we determine the affair.  I have wrote Mr Lee this post and have once more recomended it to him to Repay you for Repairing of fences in such a manner as you & he can agree.  Both this & making the Troughs good he promised me shoud be done when I was last at Alston.  I am for Mr Walton & Selfe

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
