To Mr Richd. Horne Rav.. Castle October 26th 1759

Sir

We have been abroad receiving the Derwentwater Rents for near three weeks, so that your Letter came here in our Absence relating the young Spring Woods & for that reason we could not Answer it sooner. We assure you no care has been wanting of the young Springs thro the whole Estate, and where the wood has been Cutt down & Cleared the Boards directions has been Strictly pursued. It is very probable some Gentlemen who pass thro the Estate may observe Cattle grazing where the Roots are intended to be Stubbed up for Tillage the wood being old and unfit for Springing. We are Sir your most Obed. Servts

      Hugh Boag Nichos. Walton Jun.
