To Mr Horne Ravensworth. Castle Novemb 16 1759

Sir

We have lately been applied to for a Contribution towards the Augmentation of Midford Living & at the same time for the Repair of the Parsonage House & Inclosed we send you a Coppy of the Bishop of Durhams Letter in regard to the Augmentation of the Living. There are no Estates of the Hospitall in this Parish except the Great & small Tyths of Midford now Lett at £152.10.00 per ann. in respect of which the Hospitalls share would be about Five Guineas for the Augmentation, but as the Repair of the Parsonage house has been Contributed to formerly by the Derwentwater Estate it would be an ease to have it done now, & think upon the whole if the Hospitall give Ten Guineas it will be very satisfactory to the Gentlemen of the Parish. If the Board should be of opinion they cannot give anything towards the Augmentation, it will be the same thing if they are pleased to give the Ten Guineas for Repairs of the Parsonage House. We are Sir your most Obed. Servts

      Hugh Boag Nichos. Walton Jun.
