      We are much Surprised at Hearing nothing from you relating the fine you rec’d. from Bell on the Court being held at Thornthwate and desire you will Remitt it as soon as you conveniently can.

      The man who brought the Trees has not yet been paid we desire you will as soon after you receive this as you can to go to Penruddock where he lives & pay him  his name is Wm. Harrison and the carriage is 13s for Carriage of 1000 Beach trees from Penrith to Keswick

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
