      This days post brought us  John Birkitts Bill on Joseph <Braint inclosed by you> for £33.5.6 at one months date from the 13th Inst. for John Bells purchase fine, Also your Note of the Court Expences which together makes £34 the whole Amount of the Fine, We are afraid that Notes should have Corisponded with the date of the Bill for its in October and the bill is dated the 13th Dec Inst. but if we want it of that or any other date we will Send it you for your Signing.  The acones [acorns?] we have and will take care & send them at a proper time.  I am for Mr Walton Junr & Self

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
