To Mr Ra Forster at Cambo near Wallington                                       Newca[stle] 17 Febry 1769

Sir

I have a Letter to night from Sir Wr in which he says he rec[eiv]ed an Acco[un]t in your Letter dated 31 Decer of the Sums given to the poor about Wallington last year & bids me write you “that he wo[ul]d have this kind of Charity given every year according to the Number or Condition of the poor in those Towns or parishes” of which you can inform yourself by the Minister or Churchwardens of each parish Making the  former list in some measure a Rule for the Sums you are to give, tho’ it may be necessary to increase or vary them according to the Information you receive. P.S. I sent you sometime ago the Copy of Mr Wray’s Acco[un]ts & hope you will let me have your Account in a little time. I am etc    HR

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
