To Mrs Isabella Sorsbie in Love Lane East Cheap London                   Newca[stle] 26 April 1768

Madam

I thank you for the Method you have taken of furnishing me with directions to You, but at the same time I am sorry you should have put yourself to so much trouble – there are two year’s Allowance due to You at Christmas last, which comes to Forty two pounds: & if you will call upon Mr William Alvey Darwin, Solicitor in Coney Court Grey’s Inn London in about three Weeks from the Date hereof he will pay it you, on your giving him a receipt & shewing him this Lre, if he should ask for it.

If Mrs Eden is with you I desire you will give my compliments to her & acquaint her that there is a Year’s Allowance of Twenty one pounds due to her at Mich[aelm]as last & that if she will go to Mr Darwin along with You he will pay it her. I am etc    HR
