I am so very much out of order and so great a cold is on me, prevents me waiting on you today as I design’d so I hope you’ll pardon me I believe your stay in the country will not be long so I heartily wish you a good journey and all health and Happyness to yr self and family

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
