Dear Sir

      I am sorry to hear your Rookhope Road Meeting has ended so unsatisfactorily and so very different to what we had a right to expect. I must now request you to take prompt and efficient steps by endictment to compel the Parties liable to make the Road.

      I shall be at Allenheads on Wednesday come and would like to see you if you can come conveniently ride over and stop all night.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
