Friday 8th May Had a consultation with Parkin upon supplying a quantity of Wood to the Hexham Saw Mill and Railway companies. We shall get the latter to take some Beech off our hands, which it is difficult to dispose of. I am convinced now that I shall be able to sell much more Wood this year than I reckoned upon in the annual Estimate but so long as there is abundance of it at maturity I think it well to take advantage of the market which is offered by the new Works in the District. Attended to Office business and the workmen at the River, but have nothing important to record. Saturday 9th May 1835 Was occupied all the morning with Letters and Accounts. Afterwards rode to the Farm of Wooley and through some of the Woods in Hexhamshire.
