Informed the Bankers of the Rent days being fixed that they might be in attendance.  Also wrote to Mr Storey requesting him to use his endeavours to bring forward the Tenants in the Wark district, as this would likely be the last payment from them to the Hospital, and I am anxious to get quit of Arrears which after this time, must be put into the hands of the Solicitor to obtain.  In compliance with the Secretary’s instruction, wrote to Mr John Orpeth informing him of his appointment by the Admiralty, to the situation of Clerk in the Office at Dilston with a Salary of £150, that he would be required to give security to the Receiver for money transactions in his absence.  Rode over the District of Hexhamshire.  A great improvement in the weather has taken place today, but the market at Hexham continued as bad as ever.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
