Heard from Mr Fenwick that the Duke’s Council had approved of the title of the Manor of Wark, and advised that the parcels be taken by Schedule, & therefore required me to furnish him with a particular description of the Lands etc, comprised in the Duke’s purchase, which was done.  Heard from the Agent of the Railway Co. that he was prevented from meeting me at Allerwash today & asking me to appoint another.  Received by Post, the Board’s Minutes of the 23rd Ultimo & made the necessary communications therefrom.

Also the Draft Lease to the Governor & Co., Also a list of Tenders for the Farms that were advertized, which I examined & compared.  Wrote to some of the parties, asking them to meet me on the morrow at Hexham, & sent Mr Hunt to make enquiry as to the others whom I did not know.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
