Have Frost and Snow.   Received from the Moor Master the returns of the Men employed in the different Mines in the Manor of Alston.  Sent Mr Hunt to execute a Warrant of Distress on Bones’ effects, & put a person in possession of them, hoping that it may put him upon finding security for his rents, rather than allow them to be brought to the hammer.   Received a List of the principal Subscribers for building a Bridge near Morpeth, to which as it is on the Road leading from Hartburngrainge, the Committee express a hope that the Commissioners may subscribe. [marginal pencil note mostly obscured in volume binding but appears to offer a conditional £25]

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
