Copy of Robt. Hopper Williamson Esqs Letter to Messrs Walton & Turner Gent[leme]n I have given my sentiments upon the affair of the Lead at the bottom of the enclosed letter – upon considering the matter I sh[oul]d clearly think that to proceed in a Criminal way w[oul]d be most effectual. In an Action of trover the property must be proved as well as in an indictment, & the property being of so inconsiderable a value perhaps render it not quite so proper an object of an Action, and indeed in this case the Circumstances seem to give the matter much more the complexion of a Felony than merely of a Civil Injury. I am Gent[leme]n Yours etc Robt. Hopper Williamson
letter undated but given date of 19th Jan here ie same date as of the opinion sent to the Mulcasters
