Mr. Bell

Sir,

I thank you for your kind Order of the 12th, Inst. & have this Day completed the Same as per annexed Accts, a Copy of which I send to Mr. Mulcaster for his better Directions.

Instead of Common Gothg. [Gothenburg?] Deals I have thought it would be more suitable to send a better, altho’ not the best, Sort, which are at 1s. 7d. <p/pce>, the common Goth. being so very sappy & are 1s.5d. p/pce.

The Five 1 1/4 In. Deals are 2 0d. per pce.

     Do. 1 1/2 In. Do. 2 4

     & 7 <ft> Do 9

I have done the best in my power in the execution of this Order, & hope both the Timber & Deals will answer well & give Satisfaction, being with Respect

      Sir Your Most Hble Serv.

      Ralph Atkinson

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
