To Wm Corbett Esqr

Sir

In Obedience to the Boards Commands of the 29th April last we begg leave to Observe, that from the best Information we can gett with regard to the Amble Estate, it Appears That the Tennants have not payed any Rent for about three years, & for this reason that no Person has called upon them for those Rents during that time. That the last Person the Tenants payed Rent to, was one Mr Jeremiah Hunter of Newcastle Hostman who reced for some Yrs. under Mr Ralph Radcliff, but with regard to the Settlement, we cannot come at the knowledge how it is to be Traced It is the Generall opinion of People who live in the Nighburhood of that Estate that such a Settlement was made, but yett we can have no foot steps of it. The Estate by Mr Hunters Accot. amounts to £241 - - Per Ann.

We find that a Memoriall of his Grace the Duke of Richmond & James Brudenell Esqr. has been presented to the Hon[our]able the Lords Commissioner of his Majestys Treasury, Setting forth how Wm. Radcliff Esqr became capable of Conveying Amble Estate to Ralph Radcliffe as being Seized in fee of the said Prem[isse]s with Severall matters theirein containd & hoping their Lordships will be pleased to Use their Intersession with his most Gracious Majesty for his Grant to them of the premises and of the Rents & Proffits thereof since the death of the sd. Wm. Radcliff Esqr. & we also find the Sd. Memorial was referdto his Majestys Attorney & Solicitor General who fixd the Consideration thereof to the 27 June 1740 a Coppy of which Memorial we send you Inclosed & to it begg leave to refer. We have this day sent the Deputy Treasurer Mr Wood bills for £516-5-11 ½

      Yrs &c
