To William Corbett Esqr.



Sir

      Inclosed herewith we Send you our Cash Acco[un]t for last Month, the Ballance of which at the End thereof was Two Thousand five Hundred & Ninetythree Poundfs Twelve Shillings & three pence of which we have Since sent in to Mr Woods hands £1400 & will in a few posts Send him £1000 more.

      Gawen Charleton to whom Throckley mill was Confirmed at the last letting  has Since the Confirmation appeard to us not to be in good Circumstances which puts us upon Demanding a Security for the payment of of [sic] the Rent, before we coud Suffer him to Enter upon the mill. He brought one Wm. Hutson  to be his Security who is Since broke & gone off, & not being able to procure another of proper Ability we have thought proper to Continue the pres[en]t Ten[an]t William Trumble another Y[ea]r & have Acquainted Chareleton that he Cannot be Admitted Tennant which we hope the Board will approve of & we are

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
