To Mr Richard Horn

Dear Sir

We reced. your kind favour of the 17th Inst. for which we return you Thanks. We also have reced. one from Mr Radley to much the same Purport, about Sending up of the Pticulars of the Parcels &c for the leases filling up. and we have wrote him this day, that we think it is creating Double works, first for us to write them out & send them to him to put in when they might be put in at first, with the Same Labour, & we wonder much that Mr Radley should desire it, as it is agreed in what way the Profits arising from them should be divided, and the more Work there is, the less will be to divide.

You’l See we have wrote to Mr Corbett about it, & it will be before the Board & we really cannot help thinking the readiest Way to have them done is, to send them down to us to fill up. We are Dear Sir

Yours &c

Nichos. Walton

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
