Messrs Mulcaster, 						Farnacres 3th September 1787.



       I send you along with this a parcel of White Ore which must beg the favor of you to Assay for me both for Lead and Silver as soon as your convenience will permit. 

       The Price of Lead shall continue £20 Refined Silver 5s/8 ¾d per ounce. The Quantity of Lead delivered since last Pay is 3938 P[ieces] from the Mill and there have been delivered at our Lead Wharf 3843 P[ieces] so that of Lead delivered at the Mill to 25 Aug there only remain <undelivered> 95 P[ieces]. 

       Last Monday we sold 1000 L 300 O & 340 <Ls> Youll take care that the refined Slag is marked Ref. this Year and afterwards. We are

PS  Every effort must be made to get as fast forward as possible with the Smelting & Refining. 
This copy letter is pasted into the volume after the letter dated 7 Sept. Sicne its content is quite different to that of the letter dated 3rd Sept it is possibly a clerical error, and has been given the date 13th Sept instead here.

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale.
