Ravensworth Castle June 22d. 1739 To Mr Jno. Maul, at Greenwich Dear Sir We rced Yours of the 16 Inst by last post & the Copy of the Survey along with it, and we will acquaint the Board of our Receiving it &c We are sorry for the Loss of poor Mr Willock your Clerk & wish sincerely (if it had pleas’d God) he ha liv’d for he seem’s to understand your Business well, we are glad you have gott one & hope by his Application &c he will Answer your purpose, & we hope he with your Directions will be the same to us yr Mr Willock was & we will always Gratifye him for what does for us. We will send our Accot Assoon as its gott done Indeed we were in hopes that it was done from the promisses Mr Willock made if it should be done when Mr Walton was at London. We paid him for the Jobb at or about Xtmas, & Mr Walton made him a small present when at Greenwich but as to the whole, we shall not mind it, and Acquit him. We Intend to make up the Accot. to 31sr Decembr last, & as Mr Auditor Hunter is Desirous to have the Arrears, there must be Several skins of parchment Annexed to the Accot. for you know what a Length the list of Arrears are, & there is no shortning them. & it would look bad to Settle the accot. to the latter end of April just a day before there was anothe halfe year Due but yet if the Auditor Insists on we will readily Oblidge him in it, tho as we mention before we raither would have it settled to Christmas <Morn.g> 31st Decembr 1738 If the Board would make an order that we should send them a Ship Load of Coales we would readily doe it & would send them in such a ship as would Ly to your Wharfs, & Deliver them, This if we were Ordered we will doe in the <Irongalisway>, & it may Serve for a Tryall to them, & by which they will be able to Judge of the Savings. Ships will be something Higher in the freight now because of the press but perhaps it will be soon over, our best Respect Attend your good Family & the Doctor and all friends at Greenwich & are Dear Sr Your very Humb. Servts Walton & Boag We have this day Acquainted the Board that we have recd the Copy of the Survey of the Estate & that you paid the postage at London w[he]r[e] you put it in.
