To Mr Gabl. Griffeth Ravensworth Castle December 15 1758

Sir

By last post I reced. yours with the Accots. of Ores Raised at Thornthwait Mine to 9 Feby. 1758 which is so far right but it does not answer the purposes without having it continued down to Michs. 1758, the time to which I desired it might be sent in my last. I must therefore now desire you will send me the Account of Ore raised from 9th Feby. 1758 to Michs. 1758 to which time the whole Accot. must be made up as the Duty Ore is Sold from Michs. to Michs. in each year. I am

      Your most Hb. Servt.

      N. Walton

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
