Letter – Nicholas Walton to Benjamin Skutt – 18 May 1739

      Ravensworth Castle  May 18. 1739

To Mr Ben Skutt

Dear Sir,

	Inclosed I send you three bills amounting to nine hundred and seventy Pounds upon Mr Boags & my Accot. & I desire you will pay them to Mr Mannock Strickland, with Twenty Pounds in Cash in full of one Years Interest on Twenty Thousand Pounds due to Lord Peters out of the Derwentwater estate at Ladyday last. You will please to charge the £20 in Sir Henry Liddells Accot. as paid on Mr Boags Accot. and mine.  Inclosed you have a proper recet. for my Lord Peters to Sign for £1000 which is £10 more than the remittance & what I have desired you to pay in Cash amounts to, that difference being allow’d us for making the remittance. There is likewise £100 due to Lady Katherine Radcliff at Ladyday last wch you will be so good as acquaint Mr Strickland you have directions to pay whenever he produces a proper Testimoniall of her being alive at the time when the Annuity became due. When he produces this Testimoniall you will lett me know & then you shall have a remittance made to make the payment.
