D[ea]r Sir

In reply to your esteemed favor of the 16 Inst I beg to inform you that 10,000ps of Lead are at your service at £23 p fo[the]r for Refined, and £22 pfo[the]r for Common Lead including 1/10th Slag, in the proportion of 1/3rd of the former and 2/3rds of the latter, and which under all circumstances I apprehend places this offer upon an equality with Lead Co[mpan]y’s Sale to Messrs Locke & Co last Thursday at £22 & 21 – I am etc

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
