Mr Wm Burrowes & Son Hamburgh

Gentlemen	By Mr Blackett’s desire I wrote to you on the 6th Inst since which he is favoured with your letter of the 1st inst and observes that you have not purchased the Quantity of Rye that he ordered and that the price has advanced, on which account he has supplied himself with a Quantity here considerable lower than you have it at your Market, and desires that you will not at this time Purchase any for him; but should you have purchased any part of the Order, before the Receipt of this, and it be attended with any inconvenience to you to dispose of it again in Hamburgh, he will certainly take it, but hopes this may not be the case _ I am for John E Blackett Esqr

                                                                 Gentn Your most H[um]ble Serv[an]t

                                                                                                       Josa Straker
Undated but original sequence and reference to current month dates it between 11 and 30th April 1795

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates. It was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund and the generous support of other sponsors. Friends of the North Pennines: Charity No:1137467
