                        Chesterfield



Gentlemn	Mr Blackett received your Letter the 21st ins[tan]t desiring us to Ship 600 Pieces of Lead on board the new Vessel that I mentioned to you in my last letter; that Ship is not yet ready & I find that it will be three Weeks longer before she can sail, but another Vessel (equally good) is now loading here for Rotterdam (The Sarah of Sunderland Captn John Richardson) & I have engaged her to take 600 Pieces of Lead on your Accot, she will be ready to Sail in the course of next Week _ should you wish to have any more sent when the new Vessel sails please inform us                         I am for J E Blackett Esqr                     J.S

The Dukesfield Smelters and Carriers Project aimed to celebrate and discover the heritage of the Dukesfield Arches & lead carriers' routes between Blaydon and the lead mines of Allendale and Weardale. A two year community project, it was led by the Friends of the North Pennines in partnership with Hexhamshire and Slaley Parish Councils and the active support of Allendale Estates.
